Old man winter isn’t finished with us yet.
Environment Canada issued another series of snow squall warnings across central Ontario Monday morning.
According to the national weather service, 30 to 60 more centimetres of snow are expected during the next 28 hours, that’s on top of the 150-plus centimetres that fell in January.

Huge piles of snow at the end driveways topping six feet across Simcoe County, with few places left to put the next foot of snow.
Monday will see 10 to 20 centimetres of snow, with winds gusting to 50 kilometres per hour. The wind chill reached -26C in the morning and will remain chill-inducing at -18C throughout the afternoon.

We’re expecting more snow squalls overnight with another 10 to 20 centimetres called for and winds gusting up to 40 km/h.
The low will be -17C, with a serious wind chill at -27C overnight.

Cities, towns and hamlets expected to be hit by the squall include:
- Barrie
- Collingwood
- Hillsdale
- Innisfil
- Angus
- Midland
- Orillia
- Owen Sound
Environment Canada says to expect near zero visibility in blowing snow.
It also notes that snow squalls can cause weather to abruptly change from clear sunny skies to white-out conditions within a few kilometres.

The weather service advises that road closures are possible and non-essential travel should be avoided.
