Police investigate sudden death at Barrie motel

Barrie police investigating sudden death at motel Barrie police officers and the coroner are investigating after a person died in hospital following a medical call at a motel Sunday morning.

A person has died in hospital after a medical call at a Barrie motel Sunday.

Police were called to help paramedics for a person found in medical distress at Barr’s Motel in Barrie early this morning. The person was taken to hospital but later died. Police are calling the incident a sudden death and say they are helping the coroner with the investigation.

Police say someone at the motel called 911. The person was found outside the motel and was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead. Officers won't give the person's age and won't say whether the person who died is a man or a woman.

The motel and a partial lane along Essa Road will be “secured” until later tonight or early tomorrow, say police, as the investigation continues.
