A paramedic has been charged after an ambulance was involved in a collision on Wednesday morning.
South Simcoe Police say the ambulance collided with a car at the intersection of Innisfil Beach Road and the 5th Sideroad, at around 10:50 a.m. Investigators say the force of the collision sent both vehicles into a utility pole.
The driver and passenger in the car were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Medical personnel also examined two paramedics and a nurse aboard the ambulance. There were no patients on board.
The driver of the ambulance has been charged with fail to stop at a red light.
The road was closed for an hour and a half.
