Microburst touches down in Algonquin Park: Environment Canada

Environment Canada says they are investigating what they believe to be a micro-burst which touched down on the western side of Algonquin Park on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened near Highway 60 between 1:45 and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Weather officials say the micro-burst went on for about four minutes.

Viewer photos show a portion of a Ministry of Natural Resources’ building blown down, trees bent over and signs in the area knocked over.

Environment Canada says they will keep investigating and talking to police and residents about the incident.
