Man dies in overnight snowmobile crash

Police are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occurred in Severn Township Friday night.

According to Orillia OPP, officers, Simcoe County Paramedics and Severn firefighters responded to a report of a snowmobile crash just before 11 p.m. near St Amant Road and Quarry Road.

First responders identified and pronounced the 40-year-old rider from Durham Region dead at the scene.

The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are continuing to investigate the incident.
