An unidentified man is in life-threatening condition after an alleged mad rampage in Gravenhurst on St. Patrick’s Day.
Police, ambulance and fire services responded to what they considered to be an escalating incident in a parking lot on Pineridge Gate shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Witnesses at the scene said a man lost control of his common sense and began causing significant damage to several vehicles in the parking lot.
He headed towards the back of the parking lot and climbed a fenced in area containing high-voltage equipment. While damaging the equipment, police say he was electrocuted.
Police say the complexity associated with the electrocution made initial medical care difficult. He was eventually rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Toronto area hospital to be treated for what police describe as significant, life-threatening injuries.
