Job seekers will be able to connect with employers offering employment opportunities at the annual Innisfil Job and Career Fair this month.
More than 400 people looking for employment attended the event last year that boasted more than two dozen businesses and roughly 200 job postings.
“This event will be a great opportunity for the community to come out and learn what’s available in their own backyard,” stated Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin.
Several new employers to the region will be in attendance, including DSV Solutions Inc., which is currently building a $200 million facility along Highway 400 and Innisfil Beach Road. The state-of-the-art, 1.3 million-square-foot warehouse will be the company’s largest in Canada, and is anticipated to create 225 permanent local jobs.
“DSV is proud to be building our future growth in Innisfil. As we continue to invest in innovation and technology, we are also committed to being a part of the local community,” noted Rob Chanona, managing director with DSV Solutions Inc. “We look forward to offering new employment opportunities in a great work environment for our team and warehouse associates.”
DSV plans to recruit several positions from senior roles to general warehousing. The Innisfil facility is expected to be operational this summer.
The Innisfil Job and Career Fair will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 19 at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch at 967 Innisfil Beach Road.
The event is hosted by the Town of Innisfil Economic Development Office, in partnership with Agilec Innisfil, and is free to attend.
