Barrie is searching for a local band or musician to perform at Barrie's 27th annual New Year's Eve Downtown Countdown.
The chosen person or group will play a 30-minute set at one of the largest New Year's Eve celebrations in Central Ontario.
The Downtown Countdown, a free evening of family fun and entertainment, began in 1998 and has become a New Year's Eve tradition in Barrie.
The festivities include family activities, skating, and fireworks. The night's highlight is a line-up of live entertainment featuring a special performance for kids, up-and-coming local talent and a headline act.
Past performers have included Big Wreck, Sam Roberts Band, The Trews, Sloan, Blue Rodeo, Finger Eleven and Arkells.
