After launching the all-new Titan full-size pickup XD with its diesel engine, Nissan has debuted the half-ton V8 gasoline-powered Titan at the 2016 New York International Auto Show.

The big story is the availability of a new 5.6-litre V8 which makes 390 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque, and is now available in Titan half-ton and XD models. The V8 is paired with the same seven-speed automatic from the Titan XD and includes a rev-matched downshift function.

The half-ton Titan launches in crew cab configuration, with 5.5-, 6.5-. and 8-foot bed lengths. The wheelbase of the half-ton is a foot shorter than its XD big brother, and will be available in rear-drive and four-wheel-drive. Single cab and king cab variants will follow, along with a V6 model.
