Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old for allegedly stabbing a person at a Lower Sackville, N.S., bus terminal on Monday.
Officers responded to an altercation involving roughly 15 people at a Cobequid Road bus terminal around 12:45 p.m., according to an RCMP news release. The crowd dispersed before police arrived at the scene.
Officers found a youth passenger suffering a stab wound in a vehicle. They went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The people involved in the incident are known to each other and police do not believe it was a random act.
The RCMP arrested the 16-year-old suspect at a Beaverbank home at 8 p.m. on Monday. They have been charged with:
-assault with a weapon
-aggravated assault
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-failure to comply with an order
The youth was held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
