Woman, 20, dies following hit and run in Sydney River: Cape Breton police

A 20-year-old woman died after a hit and run in Sydney River, N.S., Thursday night.

Police in Cape Breton are searching for a driver after a 20-year-old woman died following a hit and run in Sydney River, N.S.

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the vehicle-pedestrian collision on Keltic Drive near the intersection of O’Neil’s Lane around 7 p.m. Thursday.

When police arrived, officers found an injured woman and learned the vehicle had left the scene.

Police say the woman was taken to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The force is now looking to identify and locate the vehicle involved in the collision.
