Two charged after crack cocaine, weapons seized from Mount Pleasant, N.S., home

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after police seized crack cocaine and prescription pills from a home in Mount Pleasant, N.S.

The Digby RCMP recently started an investigation into the possible sale of illicit drugs from a home on Culloden Road.

Police arrested a man and a woman on Wednesday in connection with the investigation.

Following the arrests, officers searched the home and seized:

  • crack cocaine
  • hydromorphone and other prescription pills
  • cash
  • cellphones
  • weapons and imitation firearms
  • scales and other drug trafficking paraphernalia
  • a stolen snowmobile

RCMP says 39-year-old Daniel Maas and 33-year-old Jennifer Ramsay, both from Mount Pleasant, have been charged with:

  • multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime

Police say Maas also faces charges of:

  • failing to comply with a release order
  • uttering threats
  • mischief
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The force says Maas was held in custody for a court appearance on Thursday.

Ramsay was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Digby provincial court on June 2.
