Thunderbirds clinch first-ever home playoff game

The Halifax Thunderbirds will be kicking off the National Lacrosse League (NLL) playoffs at home for the first time ever.

The Thunderbirds beat the Toronto Rock 16-9 Friday night on the road. They finished the regular season with an 11-7 record, tying their previous franchise best set in 2022.

The quarterfinal matchup takes place at Scotiabank Centre Saturday, April 26 at 8 p.m. against the Calgary Roughnecks. It will be a single elimination round.

The remainder of the NLL playoffs will be in a best-of-three format for both the semi-finals and finals.
