Man arrested, charged for alleged armed robbery in Middleton, N.S.

Nova Scotia RCMP has arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery in Middleton earlier this week.

Police say they responded to a reported incident of a suspect assaulting an employee at a Commercial Street grocery store Wednesday afternoon. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police learned a man entered the store store with a knife and punched a 64-year-old employee as he demanded cash.

The employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they arrested an 18-year-old person on Commercial Street around 2:20 p.m. on Thursday. He was found in possession of ammunition and stolen shoes.

Tyson Kevin Cecil Bishop was charged with:

  • robbery
  • theft
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • assault causing bodily harm
  • contravention of storage regulation

Bishop was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
