Haligonians have just under a week left to enjoy some outdoor skating as the Emera Oval’s winter season comes to a close.
According to a new release from the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), the ice surface will be closing on Sunday as daytime temperatures increase, leading to a loss of ice.
Staff also keep track of ice conditions and, if they deteriorate, the Oval may close at any time before Sunday.
The Oval reopens during the summer when the surface will be used for summer activities such as rollerblading, biking, and inline skating.
A schedule including any ice surface closures is available on the HRM’s website.
