Coroner’s inquest to be held for man who died at Fredericton construction site in 2021

A coroner’s inquest looking into the death of a man who died at a Fredericton construction site in 2021 has been scheduled.

Preston Allen died on Dec. 6, 2021 from injuries suffered during a fall.

Chief coroner Heather Brander and a jury will publicly hear evidence from witnesses to determine the facts surrounding Allen’s death.

The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.

The inquest will be held March 3 to 7 at the University of New Brunswick Law School in Fredericton.

The first day of the inquest is scheduled to start with jury selection at 1:15 p.m.

An inquest is a formal court proceeding that allows for the public presentation of all evidence relating to a death.
