Each year, Nova Scotia sends a tree to Boston to thank the city for its outpouring of support following the Halifax Explosion in 1917.

This year, join CTV as we document this remarkable friendship with stories from both sides of the border!

Cindy Day and a CTV crew will be live in Boston for the tree lighting, bringing Maritimers the sights and sounds of the annual celebration from the Boston Common.

We will also document the stories of Maritimers who will be at the event and introduce you to Americans who have a unique perspective on this annual tradition.
