Rainfall warnings are in effect for parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Saturday.

New Brunswick

Most of southern New Brunswick is under a rainfall warning.

Environment Canada said rain, which will be heavy at times, will begin Saturday afternoon and taper into isolated showers early Sunday morning. This system is expected to bring 50 to 60 mm of rainfall.

Environment Canada said localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Nova Scotia

Much of Nova Scotia, from Yarmouth to Sydney, is under a rainfall warning.

Environment Canada said rain will be heavy at times with 50 to 70 mm expected. It will begin early Saturday evening and persist into Sunday.

The rain will end Sunday morning across western areas of the province, and in the afternoon or evening over eastern regions.

Localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas.

Additionally, a wind warning is in effect for parts of Cape Breton, including Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence.

The strong wind will begin later Saturday night and diminish early Sunday morning. Maximum wind gusts of up to 110 km/h from the southeast are expected.

Environment Canada said loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Drivers could encounter hazardous conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
