Crash causes power outage, closes section of Windmill Road in Dartmouth

Dartmouth crash knocks out power, closes road A section of Winmill Road in Dartmouth, N.S., was closed to traffic early Tuesday morning following a single-vehicle crash.

A single-vehicle crash closed a section of a busy road in Dartmouth, N.S., Tuesday morning.

Halifax Regional Police said Windmill Road was closed in both directions between Akerley Boulevard and Ralston Avenue due to the crash, which happened around 2 a.m.

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

HRM traffic : Windmill Rd closed in both directions between Akerley Blvd & Ralston Ave due to a single vehicle crash at 2 am. Driver taken to hospital w/non-life threatening injuries. HRP warning closure will be "lengthy" & it will impact the morning commute.

Power was also out in the area but it has since been restored.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
