The RCMP say arson has been ruled out in a house fire that claimed the lives of two people in Bouctouche, N.B.
Police and members of the Bouctouche Fire Department responded to the Denis Street home on Sept. 7.
Police said the home was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived on scene.
The bodies of a 62-year-old man and 63-year-old woman were found in the debris the next day. Police say the victims were both from Simcoe, Ontario.
Two other people, a man and a woman, escaped the fire. Police say one person has since been released while the other remains in serious condition.
Police say the fire remains under investigation but has been ruled an accident.
