VANCOUVER - A charge of arson has now been laid in connection with the February 13 explosion in Vancouver that destroyed a taco restaurant and severely damaged several other businesses.
Thirty-one-year-old Kamaljeet Singh Josan of Surrey appears in provincial court in Vancouver this morning.
Witnesses describe the aftermath of the explosion and fire as similar to a bomb blast.
Fire investigators quickly determined it occurred as someone tried to torch the Taco Del Mar restaurant at 686 West Broadway.
A person was seen running from the fire and further checks revealed a badly burned man was being treated at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
