If you’re in need of a pick-me-up today, a video of a New Jersey toddler repeatedly yelling “I got It!” while trying out his new walker may be just the ticket.
Nikki Kinckle, mother of Kayden Elijah Kinckle, posted the video to Facebook on the Fourth of July holiday and it quickly became a viral hit. The post has more than 30,500 “likes” and has been shared nearly 52,000 times.
In the two-minute clip, little Kayden takes slow, sometimes wobbly steps with a walker that he only received that morning.
When a voice off-camera tells him not to step so widely and asks if he’s got it, he yells: “I got it!” He continues proudly announcing “I got it!” until the video ends.
When posting the video, Nikki Kinckle wrote that, “It would be unfair to show when he gets the hang of it. We want you to share the 1st experience with us.”
The video has earned Kayden fans from across North America, including NFL quarterback Michael Vick, who currently plays for the nearby New York Jets.
He included a Bible verse with his post: “Luke 1:37 – For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
Vick’s post was shared more than 121,000 times and received more than 176,000 “likes.”
Kayden’s first steps with his walker are just the latest in a long health-care journey for him and his family. He was born with an omphalocele, when the intestine or other abdominal organs are outside the body. He also had a band wrapped around his legs and feet while he was in the womb, which led to some deformity.
Kayden had two abdominal surgeries before having his right foot and left leg amputated in January. His parents have a “GoFundMe” page to raise money for his physical therapy, prosthetics and other medical treatment and equipment.
