WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Secretary of State will be in Canada on Tuesday, expressing condolences for last week's attacks against soldiers.

John Kerry will be in Ottawa for a series of meetings.

A spokeswoman says he'll use the occasion to express American sadness over the attacks, and solidarity with Canadians.

Jen Psaki announced the trip during Monday's State Department briefing in Washington.
