Long gone are the days when you had to buy film for your camera, load it yourself and then wait at least an hour to find out if your pictures were any good. But a new viral video really shows the quantum leap our snap-happy society has come in recent years.
The video -- the latest offering in the “Kids React” series by Benny and Rafi Rine, better known as The Fine Brothers -- shows kids aged 7 to 10 attempting to use now near-obsolete personal cameras to hilarious effect.
The kids in the video were able to turn the camera without too much trouble, happily taking selfies of themselves -- without any film in the camera.
In fact, most of the kids in the seven-minute clip had never heard of film.
“It’s like one of those computer chips you put in for storage,” announced 10-year-old Tyler.
The idea of not being able to see the photos until they are developed at a store was met with universal horror and revulsion by the kids in the video.
“I don’t know how I would have survived – I feel bad for those people,” lamented 10-year-old Chloe.
“I’m happy I didn’t live in that time,” declared 10-year-old Abby.
The video, uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, had well over half a million views by Monday afternoon.
Other videos by The Fine Brothers include kids reacting to rotary phones, Walkmans, old computers, Game Boys and typewriters.
