Star Wars fans descended on a B.C. auction like a flock of porgs on Saturday, to pick over a large trove of memorabilia from a galaxy far, far away.

The sizeable collection, which was being auctioned off in Langley, B.C., included $100,000 worth of actions figures and a wide range of other Star Wars-related items, including a Darth Vader bust signed by James Earl Jones, who voices the villain in the films.

The collection also featured a crown jewel worthy of a princess, in the form of a blaster signed by the late Carrie Fisher, a.k.a. Princess Leia. The blaster, which is a replica of the one she uses in the opening scene of “Episode IV: A New Hope,” sold for nearly $2,000.

Auction manager Colin Hole, of Able Auctions, says he was surprised by the size of the collection once it had been catalogued.

“He had it stored and boxed away, (and) had an incident in his warehouse and realized he could just lose it all,” Hole told CTV Vancouver. He says the seller wanted to be able to share his toys with others, rather than see them rot away or be destroyed.

Hole adds that the timing of the auction was ideal because of the release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” in theatres.

Other items in the collection included Stormtrooper armour, a life-sized R2-D2, several replica lightsabers and various comics, Lego kits and statues.
