The New Brunswick native and fellow RCMP officer, auxiliary Const. Derek Walter Bond, 49, were shot in the early morning hours of Jan. 17, while investigating a report of a stolen vehicle at St. Albert casino.
Wynn was shot in the head at close range and never regained consciousness. He died Wednesday in hospital.
Bond was shot in the arm and torso. He is recovering at home.
Wynn's funeral is planned for 2 p.m. at Servus Credit Union Place.
A band-led procession in the streets of St. Albert will take place prior to the funeral.
The RCMP are expected to be joined by fellow officers from police and military forces across North America.
Wynn is survived by his wife, Shelly, and three teenage sons.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Doug Pack said at a news conference on Saturday that the tradition will give Wynn's fellow Mounties an opportunity to honour his service.
"It is a way which we can pay ultimate respects to their memory and leave a memory for their families," he said. "It just means we can say goodbye as a family, which is what any other family would want to do for any of its loved ones."
Wynn's casket will be adorned with the Canadian flag, along with a traditional brown Stetson hat, and a ceremonial belt. An eight-person bearer party will carry Wynn's remains into Servus Credit Union Place for the funeral.
Visitation will take place on Sunday at the St. Albert Alliance Church.
Emergency services personnel have been asked to attend between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. The public may pay their respects from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, the RCMP has initiated a review of how the force dealt with the shooting incident.
Court records show that the suspect in the shooting, Shawn Maxwell Rehn, had an extensive criminal record and was facing numerous charges.
Rehn, 34, was found dead in an apparent suicide in an empty residence near the casino following a police manhunt.
